Brian is the founder and managing member of Washington Street Properties, a real estate investment company that earned a place on the Inc. 500|5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies for five consecutive years. Alongside his portfolio, Brian built Washington Street Management, the in-house property management company for his personal apartment holdings. He has built and continues to operate a personal multifamily apartment portfolio spanning more than two decades of direct investment.

Brian was also a co-founder and key principal of Open Door Capital, a national investment platform focused on multifamily apartments and manufactured-housing communities. As part of that venture he also created Open Management, the in-house property management company for Open Door Capital, which today oversees more than 12,000 units of manufactured housing and self-storage across the country. Across his combined operating career, Brian has been the general partner or sole owner of more than 14,000 units across nearly twenty U.S. states, with a particular focus on workforce and affordable housing.

Brian is the author of two bestselling books on commercial real estate: Crushing It in Apartments and Commercial Real Estate and The Multifamily Millionaire, Volumes I and II. He has been recognized with a Gold Stevie Award for Executive of the Year in the Real Estate Industry, in addition to industry awards for company growth and book authorship.

At Freedom Equity, Brian brings the operating perspective that shapes every position we hold. He has bought, repositioned, refinanced, and sold the kinds of assets we allocate capital to. When we underwrite a sponsor's projections, we measure them against what he has actually experienced as an operator.

Cody is an Atlanta-based investor, engineer, and operator. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on strategy and finance, both from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He spent the first six years of his career in the aerospace industry at Lockheed Martin, where he managed next-generation capital project implementation on high-complexity, long-duration programs. That work shaped his approach to underwriting capital deployments today.

As Chief Financial Officer of Freedom Equity, Cody leads investment analysis, financial structuring, opportunity diligence, and ongoing portfolio review. He maintains the firm's written investment framework and the per-deal documentation that supports every allocation decision.

Cody is also a co-founder of Better Half Getaways, a hospitality venture through which he has led the ground-up construction of high-end short-term rental properties that he and Brian own and operate together.
